hummel 8.4 PIO FGX

coming soon!

As identified earlier by keen blog readers, our most exclusive and exciting hummel football will soon be launched to the public. The 8.4 PIO FGX.

The 8.4 PIO FGX is a limited edition version of our latest boot, the 8.4 Concept FGX.

Click the Read More link below for lots more pics and information.

As introduced in recent limited lifestyle footwear collections (see FW06 Per Invitation Only), the Per Invitation Only concept is one of luxury, exclusivity and a mix of performance and lifestyle.

The 8.4 PIO FGX is actually inspired by one of our most successful lifestyle PIO product, the Jacobsen. Featuring a laser-etched monogram bee/chevron design on the entire upper, the unique treatment adds distinctive on-field character to a top performance boot.

The 8.4 PIO FGX features all the same technical features as the 8.4 Concept FGX as follows,

- NEW Wide-fit anatomical last for maximum control and comfort
- Asymmetric design for anatomical fit and increased strike zone
- Dynamic, integral customized lock-fit lacing system for adjustable fit
- Glass fiber heel inserts for lightweight support
- hmlFIT Customized Fit Technology heat moldable sockliner for personal fit and ultimate performance
- NEW FGX firm ground combination stud traction outsole with DYNAsymm chassis and hGRIP pivot point studs
- PE molded internal midsole
-TR molded internal heel counter
- Extra CM EVA technical sockliner included
- 304g
- Size 6-11 UK

plus

- 100% upper Pittards WR Premiership Goat Skin Leather construction
- Unqiue Laser-etched Monogram Bee upper pattern design
- Leather Bee keychain included
- limited 2007 edition to 2000 pairs worldwide

You can read more about the new FGX outsole in the previous post, hummel football 2007 NEW FGX outsole preview.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the key technical feature (among many) of this boot is the hmlFIT Customized Fit Technology heat moldable sockliner.

"Looking for the Perfect Fit? Using a revolutionary new smart-foam material, this sockliner system can be custom molded to your foot using heat for ultimate comfort and performance...."

Check the post hmlFIT customized fit technology for more info.

Is Rommedahl going to wear these or for how long will he use the 6.2?

I hope he will stick with the 6.2 because they are the best boots ever produced!

im not 100% sure which boots Rommedahl will wear in the upcoming season, but I do know he has had a pair of 8.4 test boots and really liked them. Our whole philosophy on sponsored players is quite different than nike/adi. we dont force players to wear nay specific mocel, but leave it up to them to choose the boot that best matches their character and needs.

we'll see!

Yeah, I noticed he played in some Sharkz earlier today, so I believe you on that one!

I just ordered a pair of 6.2 Gold myself, so I'm very excited!

P.s Do you custom make shoes for Rommedahl and other sponsored players? Because I know that a swedish player named Tobias Grahn who plays for Odense has a pair of gold 6.2 with SG studs!

Ohh, I forgot to mention that Unisport is selling the new 8.4 along with the new colourways of the 6.2 and 4.2!

They look nice in white the 6.2!

We do ofer some players (as you mention for Tobia Grahn) a service where we create a combo sole for them. We actually saww off some of the studs by hand and then drill in stud receptacles for SG studs.

The players like the combination of traction and screw in studs on a very flexible outsole, but making something like this wouldnt really work to well for mass production (although I do know some brands have combo outsole, they are usually much stiffer than our custom colution). Plus not that big of a demand quantity wise compared to the cost of making molds.

Good luck with your Gold 6.2s!

Thank you!

I was just wondering: In the limited edition of the 6.2 there is some purple laces which are included, right? Is anything extra included with the gold ones?

And I should have been more specific when I asked you about the customisation part, sorry! I meant to ask you if you make the boots customized after Rommedahls feet or is he playing in normal, standard 6.2?

Thank you for have designed such a beatiful boot!

the Gold 6.2 Concept also come with extra purple laces.

Rommedahls boots are standard 6.2's At this time, we dont custom make boots to a plyers foot (except for the special custom sockliner technology as is available for retail boots as well).

Quote "Our whole philosophy on sponsored players is quite different than nike/adi. we dont force players to wear nay specific mocel"

Are you saying that Nike and Adidas force players to wear specific models?????????

Im not wure how things actually work, but it does seem that at least on the higher profile players there is a huge connection with the boot, the player and the marketing.

If a new color of a vapor is released, then you can be sure their top player will be in it.

And you pretty much never see a top Adi player in a Copa, although it is still the choice boot for many pros.

If its a high pressure by the company or just the huge incentive or with sponsorship $$ and contracts, I dont know, but it does seem the company controls the image to their benefit for sales and marketing.
